An exciting opportunity has arisen to develop and work within a newly commissioned Specialist Day Service for People with Dementia. This is a joint venture between Health and Social Services and forms part of a developing strategy of services working more closely together. This venture will also provide an expanded service to clients and carers outside office hours and will form part of a new vision of 7-day services for the future. The Specialist Day Care will provide a high standard of skilled nursing and social care. The succesful applicant will undertake assessment of needs, reviews and interventions to clients with memory related difficulties. The nurse will hold a positive attitude to dementia care and ensure that individual needs for privacy, respect, dignity and confidentiality is maintained at all times.

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is the largest health organisation in Wales, providing a full range of primary, community, mental health and acute hospital services for a population of around 676,000 people, across the six counties of North Wales (Anglesey, Gwynedd, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham) as well as some parts of mid-Wales, Cheshire and Shropshire.

The Health Board employs around 16,500 staff and has a budget of around £1.2 billion. It is responsible for the operation of three district general hospitals (Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor, Ysbyty Glan Clwyd near Rhyl, and Wrexham Maelor Hospital), as well as 22 other acute and community hospitals and a network of over 90 health centres, clinics, community health team bases and mental health units. The Health Board also coordinates the work of 121 GP practices and NHS services provided by North WalesÂ' Dentists, Opticians and Pharmacies.
