As our Retail and Business Assistant, you will report personally to our directors. Your role will underpin the smooth running of our retail operation. Managing online sales responsibilities include packing web and telesales orders, processing returns, and communication with customer via emails and phone calls. Other web-based duties will include modification of online stock details, writing web content, such as articles and reviews during appropriate downtime plus elements of social media and online marketing to highlight what we offer as a business.
Placing orders and liaising with suppliers to ensure a continuous supply chain. This will also involve managing our consumables supply in support of retail sales (for example, ordering printer ink, paper).
In-store, you will sell directly to customers as well as giving advice on what we offer as a business. Throughout our summer season, you will be required to assist customers during wetsuit fittings; helping them to choose the correct size and model for the type of swimming they prefer. Full training will be given in all aspects of our business, and we would expect you to be familiar with them by the end of the 2-month probationary period.

- The ability to multi-task is desirable as is an interest in social media and digital promotion.
Full training will be given in all aspects of our business, and we would expect you to be familiar with them by the end of the 2-month probationary period.
Working Hours
9.30-5.30pm Fridays and some Mondays, after which there is some negotiation and flexibility within the 32hrs and work from home is possible for some tasks.
You may be required to work some weekends and to provide holiday cover.
Qualifications & Skills
As a business, we focus exclusively on the outdoor swimming market, and although you don’t need to be an avid swimmer yourself, an appreciation and understanding of outdoor swimming is essential if you are to enjoy your work with us. We consider a pleasant outlook on life to be an important factor in delivering the friendly and welcoming service that has become part of our reputation.
Previous retail experience is desirable, but more importantly is a sales drive, a passion for great customer service, and strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task.
We would assume that you are computer literate, have basic image editing skills, and are comfortable working with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. A methodical approach to work and good attention to detail are important to us, as is the focus and motivation to work on specific projects that have been allocated to you.
Salary & Benefits
Your initial contract will be for 12 months with the intention to extend to a permanent position. There is a 2-month probationary period. Salary and benefits will be reviewed annually.
You will receive standard paid holiday entitlement, but holidays must be taken outside of our busiest part of our summer season, which includes July and August.
