Prince of Wales Healthcare Assistant


 
An opportunity has arisen for a permanent full time Band 2 Health Care Assistant within the Medical Directorate at Wrexham Maelor Hospital. Prince of Wales ward is a 27 bedded acute medical ward which specialises in general medicine. We aim to provide holistic care for all patients and heavily involve relatives and carers throughout their hospital journey.

We are looking for a hardworking compassionate team player to join our friendly ward.

The successful candidates will work within acute adult wards within the Medical Directorate caring for patients admitted into hospital.

Following an agreed level of training, NVQ level 2 & 3 in care, the successful candidate will be required to work internal rotation on the ward. Successful applicants will have an induction programme arranged for their orientation into the Medical team.

The role involves assisting patients to meet their personal care needs, recording observations and completing bedside documentation. Health Care Assistants are also required to carry out general cleaning in the clinical environment by preparing bed spaces and cleaning equipment.

In each shift, HCA are allocated to provide care for a group of patients. Duties include but are not inclusive to providing personal care; assisting with serving meals and drinks throughout the day; recording observations and accompanying patients for investigations.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
