Accounts Payable Clerk


 

We are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and proactive Accounts Payable Clerk. Reporting to the Financial Controller, your principal role is to provide effective administrative support within the finance department. As the business grows the finance team will evolve over time and there will be opportunities for the role to develop further.

You will be self-motivated, possess strong communication, interpersonal and time management skills, an excellent team player, although able to work alone, organised and committed to completing the job to the highest possible standards.

Key Duties of the Accounts Payable Clerk include:

  • Posting purchase invoices into Sage 50 in an accurate and timely manner, whilst adhering to relevant invoice checking and authorisation procedures
  • Overseeing the purchase ledger to ensure that all entries are accurate
  • Supporting with bank reconciliations as necessary
  • Processing and monitoring purchases and recharges from our tenanted sites
  • Maintain effective controls of data
  • Maintaining Creditors and monthly reconciliations
  • Ad hoc projects to support the Financial Controller
  • Development and preparation of management information and supporting schedules
  • Working with operational colleagues to strive for greater functionality in data systems
  • To identify opportunities to improve/simplify systems and procedures
  • Continually update own knowledge and skills

Essential Requirements:

You will be required to have at least 3 years previous experience. A strong knowledge of MS Office products is essential. Previous experience using Sage 50 is required.

The ideal candidate will have a positive, proactive attitude and be dedicated to delivering high quality, accurate and timely reporting in a consistent and controlled manner. You will be a good team player and be able to stay calm when working under pressure. Flexibility and willingness to take on a variety of tasks to support the finance department is essential.

Work location: Meriden, Coventry

Times of work: Full Time Contract

Salary: £20,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
