This is an opportunity for staff at Band 5 level to develop their nursing skills in critical care. Ideally you would have had ward experience before applying for a position in this area or undertaken a placement in critical care during your training.

The Band 5 post is based at the King George Site but all staff are contracted to work at Queens also. Future plans for the Trust will involve the permanent redeployment of all staff within critical care to the Queens site. KGH ITU/HDU consists of 5 Level ITU beds and 3 Level 2 HDU beds providing medical and nursing management for patients requiring input from specialities including cardiology, orthopaedic, urology and endocrine

If successful you will be supported by mentors and experienced senior nursing staff and for progression we encourage you to pursue your own professional development. You will have the opportunity to become part ! of the multidisciplinary team with input form the physiotherap! y department, nutrition team and Outreach Service.

All new staff appointed to posts at the Trust will be subject to a 6 month probationary period. This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the culture and working environment of the Trust.
