Introduction
We are currently looking for a Finance Apprentice to join our Group Finance team located within our Finance Department here at DB Cargo UK’s Head Quarters in Doncaster. This will provide support in the stock control for all depots under DB Cargo UK and to assist the Group Finance team with meeting reporting deadlines.
Due to the nature of the position, there is a requirement for the successful candidate to travel on a regular basis, therefore candidates must have a full and clean UK driving licence.

The position offers hybrid working with a requirement to be in the Doncaster office at a minimum 2 days per week.
What will you be doing?
Here is a list of the day to day responsibilities the successful candidate will be actioning:
Assisting in Stock Control – working with various depots around the country to produce, enter and post stock counts in line with DB policy.
Year End stock counts - Travelling and assisting in year end stock counts and providing audit evidence.
Documentation – Maintaining process and procedures relating to stock.
Month end - Reconciliation of Diesel consumption monthly.
Processing finance documents – inputting data entry financial information into our SAP system and other finance systems used on a regular basis.
Maintaining finance records – ensuring all documentation is accurate and offering support to complete any outstanding documents.
Data gathering and analysis when requested by Heads of Departments.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a candidate who has the proactiveness and motivational skills to work within this varied role and who can display a willingness to learn and develop.
You will demonstrate strong administration skills as well as a strong understanding of Microsoft programmes including Excel to an intermediate level.
An ideal candidate would be someone who has experience with completing stock audits, stock rotation and conducting inventory on a regular basis.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a proactive approach and be able to prioritise their workloads is essential for this position as well having excellent communications skills as the role requires communication not only with the rest of the Finance team, but also through-out the company.
Due to the nature of the position it is vital that candidates can demonstrate excellent organisational skills as well as a keen eye for detail as they will be reviewing a high amount of inventory,
