BAM is offering the opportunity to start a career within construction, with a leading company working on iconic jobs such as HS2. As an apprentice, you will be on a development plan and a career mentor to help your progression throughout your apprenticeship.

During the 18 month formwork apprenticeship, you’ll work as part of a larger team on a construction project in which you’ll have responsibility for

Your mission

Formwork is internationally recognised as an innovative technique that is used to form concrete structures across the entire infrastructure, from constructing roads, rail, bridges, underground structures to high-rise concrete buildings.

Formworkers contribute to the construction of projects through the preparation, installation and quality management of all stages of the formwork and falsework process. Preparing falsework that provides temporary support structures for forms and undertake formwork. This includes producing panels and fittings that mould to form a desired shape with concrete, such as slabs, support beams, columns and walls.

On this 18 month apprenticeship you will learn skills in;

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a school or college leaver who is looking to start their career in the construction industry. You'll need good comunication skills, be an excellent team worker but also be able to use your initiative.

As this is an apprenticehip, you must be prepared to work towards your qualification whilst also working on site and gaining the experience you need to succeed.

What’s in it for you?

You will receive excellent industry experience from day one working on an exciting project, the Sheephouse Wood Bat Protection Structure.

The 56 hectare woodland is home to several different bat species, including the most northerly known colony of the rare Bechstein’s bat. All bats are legally protected in the UK and this structure will allow bats to cross the line without being harmed by passing trains.


You will complete a nationally recognised level 2 formworker apprenticeship qualfication which will take around 18 months to complete.

Your work environment

You will join a larger construction team based near Milton Keynes where you will be able to learn from a variety of experienced BAM employees including may other apprentices of various specialisms.
