Becoming a Disability Assessor â€" Qualified Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD, RCN), Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Paramedic â€" with Capita PIP:
Working as a Disability Assessor, you’ll have the opportunity to take your career to the next level â€" broaden ing your experience, adding to your skillset and opening the door to incredible prospects in the future. If you are a Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD, RCN), Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Paramedic, we can provide you with over 6 weeks intensive training and ongoing support to make this change in your career!
This role is primarily Monday to Friday and does not involve working unsocial hours, it is based in Belfast with travel required to the surrounding areas. Once trained, you will have access to a dedicated support network â€" in addition to your Team Manager, there are also Clinical Coaches, a Disability Assessor support helpline, typing tools and more to make sure you have everything you need to transition into this role successfully.
What you will do:
Meet claimants (at their home or in clinics) to establish how their health condition affects their life. Conducting observations and assessments on their ca pacity to carry out functional activities.
Analyse and interpret clinical information and evidence supporting the assessment, to compile a comprehensive report including detailed history, full justification and conclusion from evidence gathered to support the DWP (or DfC) in their decision making.
Utilise reports (MI) and feedback systems to support improved quality and performance, all whilst developing clinical knowledge of the functional impacts of health conditions less familiar to you.
Experience you need to apply:
Two years post-registration experience in Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, or as a Paramedic.
Must be fully registered without restriction or conditions with the NMC/HCPC/GMC and hold a valid PIN.
Hold a full, current driving license with access to a car.
Excellent observational and decision-making skills.
- < p> Effective listening, probing, questioning and conversation management expertise.
Ability to demonstrate good experience of report writing and strong computer literacy.
