Teaching Assistant

Teaching Assistant Needed

I am currently working on behalf of a Primary school which is located in Cheltenham, in order to find a Teaching Assistant for them for the next academic year! The school is based on the outskirts of Cheltenham, south of the centre. It is a lovely and welcoming school that was rated as “good” in their most recent Ofsted report. They strive to ensure students feel supported and that parents are included and encouraged to voice their opinions to ensure that everyone is heard within the school! They provide a broad curriculum to ensure there is variety in their students' learning, so is a fast paced environment!

The school would really like someone to join them for the next academic year, and it will be on a part time basis, for 27 hours a week that would be split across the Monday-Friday. This would be from September 4th until the following July. You would be based in a KS2 class supporting the Teacher and would focus on supporting children who are in need of extra support with their learning. Previous experience with SEN is desirable but not essential, and you must be a qualified Teaching Assistant for this. The school really wants someone who is motivated and kind, and would be dedicated to their role.

What will you be doing on a day to day basis?

  • Support and aid the Teacher with the lesson plan.
  • To supervise students throughout break times/lunch
  • To complete intervention sessions where needed
  • To help students with reading/phonics

What did Ofsted say in their most recent report?

“Teaching for pupils who have SEN and/or disabilities is effective. Teachers and other adults support these pupils well. There is a strong emphasis on ensuring that social and emotional needs are met. As a result, pupils are ready to learn. Teachers and teaching assistants help them to learn alongside their peers and make good progress relative to their individual starting points”.

Does this role sound like something you would be interested in? If it is, apply! We will be in touch with you!
