An exciting opportunity to learn all about the technology enabled support that is given to residents of Gateshead. The Role will offer the apprentice to learn about technology alongside alert management, both receiving and responding. No two days are the same, this is an extremely varied, challenging yet highly rewarding opportunity.

Role and Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Response and alert of calls
- Ensuring clients contact and personal information are kept up to date
- Personal care aspect
- Diary rota (mixture of duties)
- Respond to a fall/trip/equipment alert
- Moving and handling of equipment/clients
- Dealing with the whole of the council out of hours calls
- Dealing with difficult situations potentially death/distressed clients
- Supporting and making a real different to local residents lives
- Working under the supervision of a line manager
- Undertaking call handling and associated work, monitoring and responding to the needs of clients linked via Technology Enabled Support, including outgoing calls to clients as required.
- To carry out appropriate action to ensure that all calls received are dealt with satisfactorily in line with agreed policy and procedures, including appropriate liaison with other staff, agencies and departments as required.
- To provide a mobile response service as required and directed this can include responding to the needs of social care clients from medical emergencies and providing personal care.
- Clients linked to the Care Call Service have a diverse range of needs including mental health, learning disability and dementia and have an age range from children through to adults.
To ensure that database information is accurate and that the equipment installed is working effectively, including the provision and installation as required of any Assistive Technology Equipment and installation of keysafes. - To visit clients to obtain personal details and demonstrate the use of equipment.
- To carry out general administrative duties associated with Care Call service.
- To work according to agreed shift patterns and to provide cover in the absence of other staff as necessary.
- Such other duties reasonably falling within the purview of the grade as may be required.
- To support the telecare co-ordinators , ensuring processing of referrals and associated administration is complete.

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Apprenticeship qualification.

Maths and English, GCSE Grade 4-9 or equivalent
