A little bit about what we are looking for...
As a Building Services Testing Officer, you will be carrying out and the testing, inspection, maintenance and servicing of PA Housing’s fire safety systems and Building Services equipment.
We are happy to offer hybrid working with this role; When you aren't on onsite visits, you will be required to be in the office for around 2/3 days per week with the rest being from home, however please bear in mind we may need you to be in the office more within your probation and training. It's important to us that you feel fully ready and confident in the role before working from home. Of course if you'd prefer to be in the office more, then that is completely fine with us too!
Your responsibilities...
- Carry out an effective maintenance and inspection regime of fire safety systems and Building Services equipment by undertaking a regular testing and servicing regime; The fire systems and Building Services equipment includes but not limited to fire alarm panels, fire detection, sounders, emergency lighting, portable fire extinguishers, AOVs, MOVs, emergency lift lines, portable appliance testing and other systems and equipment as required
- Record all maintenance and inspection outcomes on our asset management system Keystone through mobile devices such as a laptop or phone
- Report all equipment malfunctions, equipment not scheduled for maintenance or inspection, equipment and components in need of repair or replacement or any issues found on site that could have an impact to health and safety
- Raise urgent orders and report repairs from site where required
- Work collaboratively with the Building Services teams to develop effective and efficient services, to deliver consistent services across PA and share best practice

Our ideal candidate...
- Knowledge in fire safety measures and active fire safety systems
- Good technical knowledge in all areas of building services equipment and maintenance
- Good knowledge of Health and Safety requirements
- Good technical knowledge of electrical fixed wiring systems, maintenance and testing procedures
- Experience of undertaking servicing and maintenance of building services equipment, including fire alarms and detection
