Job Description
- Supplier selection and annual contract negotiation.
- Strong negotiation skills, negotiating/re writing contracts
- Ensure components /materials are supplied to satisfy manufacturing.
- Supplier development.
- Identify potential ways to reduce costs.
- Cross functional support to other departments e.g Design, Marketing, Finance, Planning, Distribution and Engineering.
- Supplier visits and assessments, UK and overseas (as and when required).
- Reduce material lead times.
- Effective application and administration of processes to achieve the above duties.
- Deliver Value added and value engineering savings.
- Deliver purchase price variations savings in line with annual targets.
- Supplier relaationship management
- Maintain commodity price tracker.
The Successful Applicant
- Minimum of 5 years' experience within Buyer/Procurement dealing with Capex projects
- Experience within a manufacturing background (FMCG/Industrial)
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to maintain professional relationships with Senior internal and external stakeholders.
- CIPS qualification preferred
- Identifies opportunities for cost improvement and drives them forward
- Successfully implemented strategic sourcing plans
- In depth knowledge of market structures and Supplier strategies relevant to Categories
- Pan-European experience - Sourcing
- Proven delivery of tangible benefits in quality, service, innovation and cost savings
- An understanding of category management principles and a working knowledge of SAP processes and functionality across the procurement process and integration with other functions.
