The University wishes to appoint an outstanding individual to the position of Director of Development and Alumni Relations. The position offers an exciting opportunity for an energetic and dynamic individual who will shape the future direction of the Universityâs development/fundraising and alumni relations activities.
The postholder will play a leading role in the enhancement and implementation of fundraising strategies to generate substantial levels of philanthropic income. This will include supporting a range of activities including the John Hume and Thomas P OâNeill Chair in Peace, the newBelfastCitycampus, Biomedical Sciences, Nursing as well as other fundraising priorities that may arise. The postholder will also be responsible for the Universityâs worldwide alumni relations! activity.Ulsteris very proud of the achievements of its alumn! i and we know our graduates are making tremendous impacts in a range of roles across the globe. The Director will strategically develop relationships with our growing and vibrant alumni community across 121 countries.
The successful applicant will have the experience and vision to transform the Universityâs development and alumni relations activity. S/he will be an experienced senior manager with a substantial background in successful fundraising. This includes cultivating and stewarding relationships with donors and/or funders and having substantial knowledge of a wide range of fundraising techniques. The postholder must be capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously from inception to completion and must have experience of managing a wide portfolio of donors/funders. S/he will have the management expertise and experience to galvanise and lead the team working in this area. S/he must have well developed ambassadorial and networking skills with the abilit! y to articulate and promote the Universityâs interests to a wide range of audiences.
